Politics[]
The Aristach[]
Fresnia is primarily governed by the Aristach; a head of state elected by the Fresnia Council Circle, simply called The Circle.
The Circle[]
The circle is a political group of 10 members. These members are chosen and raised by Fresnia's aristocracy. The cirlce often includes a member each from the Merchants' Guild and the Shipwrights Guild. Often two or more members are chosen to be representatives of the folk who live outside of the capital; usually a well regarded Lord, or town Mayor.
The Counsel[]
The Counsel of Fresnia consists of the Aristach and the Circle. The Counsel hold meetings each fortnight wherein matters of governance are discussed. These meeting are open to the public, though non-counsel member may only provide input if five or more Circle members allow, or the Aristach allows. Memers of the public may seek Circle members outside of these meetings to address concerns, such that the Circle member may rise the issue at a Counsel meeting.
